PB&J Smoothie (Dog-Friendly!)

Cooks in 3 min Difficulty Easy

Indulge in a wholesome smoothie that’s tail-wagging good! This dog-friendly PB&J Smoothie is a delightful concoction that’s become a daily ritual for my family – a hit not just with us, but with our four-legged companion too. I’ve often found my dog’s tail wagging wildly as soon as the peanut butter jar is in sight. Of course, before introducing any new treat to your furry friend, consulting your veterinarian is essential. They can guide you on portion sizes and ensure your pet’s safety. For our 70-pound Shepherd, 1/3 to 1/2 cup of this PB&J smoothie hits the spot perfectly.

Fruit

It is no secret that fruit is a fantastic source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. But did you know this can benefit you and your pet?! However, it’s important to note that not all fruits are safe for dogs. Grapes, wild berries, citrus, and fruit pits are some of the fruits that must be avoided. Here you can find a more detailed list.

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter – a timeless favorite – is more than just a spread. It’s a rich source of protein, healthy fats, and vitamins B and E, as well as niacin. Fortunately, most peanut butter is canine-friendly, given in moderation, just please check the ingredient list. Xylitol is added to some peanut butter, which is toxic to dogs and must be avoided. Opt for peanut butter with no added salt or sugar for the healthiest option for your furry friend.

I hope this delicious & nutritious (dog-friendly) PB&J Smoothie can become a part of your daily ritual whether you have a fur child or not!
